33 cl bottle shipped to me direct from the brewery. Came with a cool handwritten note. Poured in small doses into a taster’s snifter in Toulouse, France.
An abyss of sacred darkness, the brew refused to give any foam, just a short fizzle of carbonation.
Nose is a vanilla bomb. Rich, focused, and expensive smelling. Sweet dessert treat. Chocolate wafts in.
Taste - Massive. Really glad La Debauche knew to go over the top with the vanilla and tonka bean. Once the alcohol rush subsides, the holy spirit overtakes the senses. Vanilla, smoky dark caramel, warm spice, chocolate out the ying, coffee, dark stone fruits. Sticky sweet finish with a solid alcohol bite. Bam!
Mouthfeel is dense and full. Low carbonation makes it all mosh together.
Overall, this isn’t for everybody. But if dig a big badass pastry stout, it doesn’t get any better than this. Hail the Sacred Heart!
