Sampled at home from a growler.
Appearance: This is the murkiest beer that I have ever seen. It is the epitome of unfiltered brew. It poured a rusty orange color with a huge, off-white head that was chunky and fluffy. It lingered for a long, long time (there was still a measureable cap left at the bottom of the glass) and left a lot of lace on the glass.
Smell: Right after the pour, the smell was mainly strong grain. After the beer sat for a few minutes, a zesty lemon aroma started to break through and dominate the aroma.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied and fairly smooth. The finish was dry, almost chaulky.
Taste: This beer is very grainy and unrefined. It's almost like walking out into a wheat field (and Lord knows we have enough of 'em around here) and chomping on a few plants. This natural grain taste dominates the flavor, combined with a good dose of lemon. Some hops bitterness kicks in well into the finish, more so than most other wheats.
This is the most unfiltered "unfiltered wheat" that I have ever had. It takes the style to the extreme, making it pretty rough around the edges. It's enjoyable, but a little much for me.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
