Sampled at the brewery, then at home from a growler.
Appearance: When RCBC makes an unfiltered beer, they don't screw around. This beer makes orange juice look crystal clear. It was an incredibly opaque, pale yellow color. There was no head at all by the time I got the beer and, therefore, no lacing.
Smell: Typical wit aromas of grain, wheat, spices, and orange. The orange was stronger in this beer that any other wit that I have had. Of course, that might have had something to do with that damn orange slice that was jammed on the rim of my glass. Ahhhh! Hold the fruit, please!
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied, grainy, and chewy. Defintely unfiltered.
Taste: The foundation of this brew was a raw, chewy grain and wheat flavor. Dancing around on top of this was coriander, orange, and a hint of lemon zest. All combined to form a very well balanced, delicious beer.
I like wit beers and this offering from RCBC didn't let me down. Good stuff.
