Pours a very thick Ebony with some evidence of carbonation & a sliver of mocha colored head. Zero head retention & lacing
S: Dark fruit, barrel rawness, dark chocolate, hints of maple
T: Follows the nose, dark chocolate, leafy hops, some dryness, hints of cola as well up front. Salted plums, dark chocolate, raw oakyness as this beer warms up. Finishes with more salted plum, some sour mash, figs, brown sugar & carob
MF: Chewy as Hell, warming, not much discernable carbonation
A sipper without a doubt, it started a little hot & got better as it warmed up. Some carbonation would've pushed the rating up
