On tap at the brewery. A very nice Baltic Porter. At first it had a lively carbonation almost like cola. After warming, it was quite good and had a complex flavor.

Pint can's contents now temporarily residing inside a clear Imperial pint glass. There's almost no head, so it fits easily on one pour. The aroma is more malty and hoppy than fruity. It drinks nicely. As the nose predicted, there's not a heavy dose of fruit to be tasted. Instead, there's just enough to give what would otherwise be just an ordinary porter a little extra dimension. Black coffee brown, like most porters/stouts, there's no glass lacing to coincide with the absent head. Unfortunately, that does tell a true tale that this won't be the richest, smoothest, nor fullest bodied porter you'll ever have. It's nice for its subtle inclusion of a yet uncommon taste addition and the ABV is nicely concealed; but, the complements end there.

On tap at the Altoona brewery yesterday afternoon.

Standard black/dark brown body. Small head doesn't last long. Nice aroma with hints of dark skin fruit. Thing is, it doesn't really have the "oomph" of a Baltic.

16 oz can

Pours dark nearly opaque brown. Hints of light penetration around the edges. Basically no head.

Smells of plum, molasses, grape, brown sugar, and toasty malt.

Flavor is of fresh tart plum. Biscuit undertones and a bit of funk in the finish. Hints of cocoa.

Lighter body, minimal texture from carbonation.

This is an odd one. The plum flavor is pleasant and enjoyable, but there's very little porter behind it. This beer is surprisingly thin bodied. The aftertaste is a bit off. Overall it's worth a try but I feel like it's not going to have wide appeal.
