The entire contents of a pint can were emptied entirely into a clear glass liter mug. The liquid is maple syrup brown, with a reddish tint, dull and rather opaque. The aroma isn't particularly rich, nor pungent, but it carries the mild malt and mild hops of a standard red ale. Almost no head was produced by the pour. Its taste is pleasant initially, then gets oddly somewhat sour, before transitioning back for a nice finish. None of this is heavy on the taste buds, as it's almost as mild as it smells. The odd midstream flavor event is mitigated by a clean, albeit relatively wet finish. The mouthfeel is just fine. There's nothing neither to good, nor too bad to make this one memorable. There's no reason to prefer this, but another would be acceptable.

Poured into a wide mouth, grip shaped goblet: color is copper/amber, head is light tan with fine bubbles and presents one finger thick, head dissipates to thin top with spotty lacing.

Smell is light sweet toasted and light caramel malt blend, some hop earthiness.

Taste is similar with light sweet toasted/caramel malt flavor with earthy clean bitterness.

Mouthfeel is low/moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, lower bitterness.

Overall a sweeter and maybe undercarbonated riff on the amber ale.
