Brewery is located in an old Church, has TVs for sports and some nice beers on draft. Food was solid, good stop and nice place to have a few - they lean German with their styles and did a nice job.

Had a list of 5-6 breweries I wanted to try near our rental. This was not one of them, but was suggested by an employee at Sun King. Well worth the stop. Has a bit of a church meets brewpub vibe. The employees were all very friendly. The food was outstanding. St. Joseph's has a large variety of beers including some ciders from Ash & Elm. The quality of the beers was good/better than average.

As is mentioned in other reviews, this was a former church. The bar is where the left aisle used to be, the dining area is where the nave (pew section) used to be, the brew kettles are where the altar and the area behind (choir, apse, chancel & ambulatory), used to be. They were brewing their sacred brews while there. Their beers are mainly of the continental European style and were good, though the Absolution amber ale was a bit better than the other three. The service is quite good and I had a Jambalaya that was quite good. Needless to say, the atmosphere was quite good with much dark wood, contrasting with the white walls.

The brewery is located in an old church on the near East side of Indy. There was plenty of different beers to choose from and I say they were above average. The service was kind and attentive. The food was excellent.

Quite a fascinating set up as they remodeled an entire abandoned church into a downtown brewery. It's surely nothing you have seen before or very often. Great food and good beer, not the biggest selection but a good enough selection to make it worth a trip there.

Really cool location in an old church. The food is decent. They have lots of house beers, but the quality of most is mediocre at best, with only one or two decent offerings, which is a shame because the building is fantastic.

A converted church, it keeps a lot of the original buildings charm, with enough new flares to let you know you're in a brewery. The beer is okay, I appreciated the many different styles, but wish they would zero in a few and make those stand out a little more.

I love this building. As a former church, this is a true Chapel of Beer. Because of the high ceilings, the place never feels cramped. The alter is the brewery. The pews are replaced with a thirty foot bar on the left side of the aisle and table seating on the right. One can go up to the choir and watch the proceedings below.

This venue could never happen in an expensive real estate city like Boston or San Francisco. So, I think of this place as something special.

The beer is okay but not spectacular. But who cares, this could easily be the best bar location I've been to.

Definitely worth a trip. There were 13 taps of original beer.

One of my favorite breweries that I have visited. It is really interesting and awesome when an old church gets converted into a brewery. This brewery and pub feels very open due to the tall ceilings of the old sanctuary, even though some of the tables are quite close together. Brewing equipment is visible on the west end of the sanctuary and there are tvs all around allowing for watching sports or whatever else you may want to watch while you drink and/or eat. The food menu is varied and excellently presented and cooked. The beer menu is also varied allowing for a range of choices. Staff is very friendly and helpful as well. Excellent brewpub.

Brewery & restaurant in a beautifully restored former Catholic church. A wonderful atmosphere in which to drink beer. The only drawback I noticed was the acoustics of the building. There was a sizable crowd the day we visited and the noise echoing off the walls and ceiling was a bit too much for me. We were sitting at the bar when the crowd came in, maybe it's not as noticeable in the dining room area. They had a good selection of tasty, quality beer, all with amusing church theme names, and the servers were friendly. We first sat in the dining area and after waiting 15 minutes for the beers we ordered to arrive, we decided to grab some newly unoccupied seats at the bar. The service at the bar was excellent and they made up for our wait by giving us a free dessert. The food looked good but seemed a bit pricey. Well worth a visit.
