Follow our friend as he provides moments of mirth and merriment. Laugh, smile and enjoy the spectacle of the stage and this season before he slumbers. This rich and decadent stout is layered with notes of espresso, dark currants, plum and caramelized sugar.

Deep reddish brown body with a solid inch of mocha head that leaves blotchy rings of lace. Smells very roasty up front; dry French roast coffee beans and scorched toast. The back end of the nose features an odd alcohol note. Not any kind of liquor you would ever want to drink, though. This is more like rubbing alcohol. It doesn't dominate or anything, but it's there and it's unpleasant. No alcohol on the tongue, though. This is all espresso up front with a dark baker's chocolate finish. There's a faint, lingering cherry cordial aftertaste. Incredibly dry finish with a slightly less full body than I like from a Russian imperial stout, but this is ultimately a fine beer.
