Spring is accompanied by imagery of rebirth and aromas of freshness. We tried to incorporate these themes in Haru no Kimagure by reinterpreting our take on the Pale Ale, choosing to forgo the usual American hops for very traditional Czech and German varieties. Using American ale yeast at a very low temperature keeps the beer light and crisp. We hope you will agree that the final product fits perfectly with the transition from winter to summer.

Should be put in a category of its own, known as "Meaco Pale Ale." Lots of elements at play, but they're all expressed ever so subtly; overall a highly sessionable Pale Ale which makes you contemplate exactly what qualifies a Pale Ale as "American" or "British" or even "Belgian" in this case.
The first impression on those nose is crisp golden noble hops. Earthy, herbal notes dominate, with hints of white pepper sprinkled in between here and there. Grainy biscuity malts take over toward the end, accentuating the initial impression.
The first sip reminds me more of a well-made Czech pilsener more than anything else, except it's accompanied by a nice bitter hoppy bite as you'd expect from an "American" Pale Ale. Earthy and peppery flavors comprise the secondary palatal characteristics; the finish is as dry as you can get.
Medium-light bodied, with mild carbonation. A refreshing treat to help chase away the 28 degree heat.
