This beer brings together the best aspects from our two favorite brewing traditions: America and Belgium. Craft beer in America has sparked a reawakening of beer lovers across the world, mainly driven by bold and bitter hop flavors. Belgium has always produced beers of amazing depth and complexity thanks in large part to the unique character of its yeast. For Ichii Senshin, using these two ingredients together creates a Belgian IPA that blends fruity and citrusy hop character with earthy and spicy yeast flavors without being overly bitter.

Hops: Chinook, Styrian Goldings, Willamette, Centennial

Schooner on-tap at Beer Bar Miyama 162, Kyoto (¥1000):
An enjoyable enough beer without it ever really surprising, there was some pleasant pine & grapefruit flavours coming through alongside some floral touches & a hint of Belgian yeast but my biggest complaint with this one was that it wasn't ever really strong enough sadly. There was some nondescript fruits & further malt bitterness towards the end but it wasn't quite as pronounced as I'd have liked to make this a beer that I'd hurry back to.

Super light color for an IPA, and tastes like a Belgian beer but the smell belies the taste: a lot of pine and lemon. Good to try in the heat of the summer, but not an IPA.
