Kyoto IPA made in Japan, but new england IPA was closest match when I listed it, but american style or west coast ipa is probably most accurate. 6.5% abv. 11.5 oz brown bottle
poured into a 12 oz side arm cylinder beer glass.
look: Honey amber, hazy. medium bubbled, light tan, 2 inch head, retained well , leaving delicate lacing behind.
smell: fruit with pine, some malty bread.
taste: some maltiness, then bitterness and pine flavors float on the malt. a nice balance of flavors and overtones. the bitterness lingers nicely.
Feel: medium carbonation, full body.
overall: I did enjoy this IPA. probably better described as american or west coast, rather than new england IPA . It is not a fruit bomb, has a slight fruit aroma, the hops and malt are noticed distinctly, with the hops getting the bigger part of the overall flavor. I have another, and I will drink it. I wouldn’t pay the $5.79 for a bottle though. I enjoyed the Kolsch better, and might try it again at $4.79 per 11.5 oz
