This is a solid pale that is just a tad on the bitter side, probably from the dry hopping. Maybe more an IPA than pale ultimately but I still very much enjoyed it. Goes down smooth really and has a really good aroma to it. Nothing special look wise, just a normal pale.
Recommend for sure as an oatmeal pale isn't very common.

Picked up a growler; served in a pint glass. Beer pours pale, in between yellow and orange, and heavily hazy. Bright citrus hop aroma. Flavor is legitimately hoppy too -- this could be a respectable IPA, even on the hop-crazy West Coast. Smooth mouthfeel contrasts with sharp, but not overly bitter, flavor from the wide variety of hops in this brew. This APA is no filler used to round out the taps at Hellbent -- this is a legit regular drinking beer.

I had this beer on-tap in an imperial pint glass at the brewery.
Appearance: rich orange hue with plenty of haze and a finger of creamy ivory foam. Quite attractive indeed.
Smell: citrusy, slightly dank hops atop a sweet malt base. Not bad.
Taste: citrusy hops and sweet malt. There's a generally smooth and creamy character here which works really well. That said, the bitterness is a bit on the harsh side.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and a very smooth, rich creaminess. Very good.
Overall: a very decent pale ale. The bitterness is a bit rough, but otherwise a tasty brew.
