Hellbent Brewing’s Northwest Pilsner is light lager brewed with North American Malts and hopped with northwest hops. The hops used were Lemondrop, Crystal, and Meridian. This beer finishes with a bit more hops than a “usual” pilsner, but it still has a crisp, dry finish and slight bready malt flavor typical of the style.

Northwest Pilsner pours a golden color, with a large frothy head. The aroma is weaker, bitter. The flavor is light, bitter, with a crisp hop flavor. Good feel. Overall, a lighter pilsner, more on the harsh bitter side.

Taster flight at Hellbent taproom. Clear golden pour, small foamy white head. Aroma is biscuity, grainy, touch of lemon. Taste is crisp and bready, light bitterness at the finish.

Moderate, white head. Nearly clear, medium light golden orange appearance. Light amount of floral hops and roasted malt aroma, with a touch of yeastiness. Medium heavy pilsner body. Moderate roasted malt/grain flavor with a touch of fruitiness and very little noble hop presence. A little bit of a light roasted grain flavor, at the finish.

L: Pale gold with a one finger lasting head, dissipating slowly to a ring with an oily cling to the lace
S: Faint cherry and/or apple tartness, freshly cut pine wood, and biscuits
T: Lager yeast biscuits but not a strong presentation there, carbonation, but not real crisp - instead more oaky. Hoppy.
I like this and would repeat.
F: Light Medium body, good carbonation, finishes dry
O: Just getting into Pilsners, but this is a fine example, easy drinking not overbearing, great for a new Pilsner drinker

Growler fill from the brewery, poured in an angled pilsner flute. Pale golden in color, with loads of tall, white head. Checks out. Very faint aroma of lager yeast. Flavor has a little bit of biscuit malt prominent with only enough hops to put it a little bit on the crisp side of sweet. Hop flavors lean toward lemony rather than piny or citrus rind. Not super impressed with this at first. This pilsner isn't a big on flavor, and what's there is too malty to be truly refreshing. Even the carbonation is lower than it should be. I hope I warm up to this because I have another 58 oz or so.
