Dry hopped with Citra, Comet, McKenzie, Anchovy (It’s a real hop, we swear!), and Strata, Susumu Dragon IPA is chock-full of grapefruit, tangerine, melon, watermelon hard candy flavors, with just a hint of pine on the finish to give it balance. Pours a clear dark amber with adequate foam in the Chimay chalice. Malty and thick-bodied. Astoundingly hopped and expressive from nose to throat. Aroma of tangerine peel. Tastes of every kind of citrus rind and a medley of fruits with straight quinine. This is quite boldly flavored, for those who like to dial it up to eleven. It's not so lingeringly bitter, but still eve-opening. For me the drinkability is enhanced by diluting it severely with that Kellerbier I sipped a little of earlier. From the 16 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station. Date is smudged, but this was announced on Feb. 9, 2024.
