An American Pale Ale and an Alaskan classic, expressing a fruity and pronounced malty character from the use of American malt and aromatic Pacific Northwest hops, The copper color balances with the Citra and Cascade hops that give it a distinct citric aroma, fermented with Pacific Northwest yeast.

Had this on tap at Silvertip Grill in Girdwood, AK. Was told it was an amber ale with more of a hop bite than usual, but it actually drank more like a hoppy kolsch or imperial pilsner with a pale golden color to boot. Very light, clean, and crisp but with enough malt and citrusy hop to make you say "oooh, that makes more sense" when visiting the brewery website, which lists Old 55 as a specialty pale ale. An above average pale ale with a unique drying crispness.
