Sacrificial Oat is the most heavily dry-hopped beer we've ever made. This 6.66% ABV, 57 IBU Hazy IPA is excessively hopped with Mosaic, Citra, and Simcoe. We have been rewarded with an abundance of bright citrus and ripe berry notes. Sacrificial Oat is designed for West Coast heathens, so it's markedly more bitter than the Calvinist versions of the style.

Hazy, as promised, with a heavy hop presence assaulting all senses. I’m getting a lot of papaya and peach purée, maybe some pineapple tartness rounding it out. There’s a touch of the hop burn in place of a bitter finish. Excellent beer.

Tall can. No "best by" or "canned on" date.

Appearance: Cloudy gold color, airy foam that doesn't last long.

Smell: Tropical fruit dominates. Mango, guava. Some sticky hop components add some complexity.

Taste: Restrained tropical fruitiness, followed by intense hop bitterness. Dank, resiny, earthy.

Mouthfeel: Fairly thick, mouth-coating quality. Average carbonation.

Overall: A very enjoyable hazy. I enjoyed the confluence of the strong tropical fruit aroma with an assertive bitter hop flavor. No milk shake or lactose qualities, which make the beer highly drinkable. No idea if oats are a component in the grain bill. If they are, then demerits for the brewery not noting this on the can or explaining it online. I quite enjoyed this beer, and would definitely buy it again to support a local brewery in these trying COVID times.

Can purchased from lupulo Santa Cruz.
Presumably fresh, no date on can but I know this to be a recent Bay Area release.
6.66% abv, some some sort of satanic sacrifice theme?
L: hazy alright.
S: Mango, papaya, orange juice.
T: same as smells. Stonefruit/tropical dominant, just a ghost of resinous bitterness in finish.
F: Pretty juicy.
Overall: a solid hazy. Doesn’t stand out as monumental.
