Had on tap at Bricks in Cedar Rapids, poured a pale crisp yellow with good clarity, head of white foam that settles to a thick layer and ring with nice lacing. Nose of sweet wheat breads, a touch of citrus and herbal notes from the hops. Medium body with light wheat malt flavor, sweet tastes finishes with a slight hoppy dry finish. This was very refreshing.

I puffed and dismounted my bicycle after a long segment of the 2015 RAGBRI. I insisted my coaching staff join me on this bicycle ride across the Great State of Iowa to build esprit e corps and connect with the Hawkeye faithful. It was the “last stop” before the overnight in Coralville. As usual I was the first coach to finish an boy did I ever want a refreshing beer. I approached a hospitality tent and found Wood's Wheat (American Wheat Ale) to be crisp, dry, and smooth (like me with a room full of boosters, coeds, and profs). My pallet delighted in in copious amounts of the ubiquitous C-hops and Mosaic hops. These gave the beer a complex aroma and flavor of berries, citrus and herbs. It's not bitter like an IPA but is full of the same terrific IPA hop presence. I instructed a grad assistant to change my back tire and retired for the evening.
