On-draught @ Catraio in Porto. Cost was 2.50 euro.

Fruit profile bends a bit too bright for a dubbel, neglecting the usual dark fruits (plum, fig, dates, prunes) in favour of cherry and slightly toasted amber malt. Lacks the intricate yeast profile of a Trappist strain, offering only indistinct Belgian saccharomyces spice.

Sweetness is right, though, and the attenuation is there.

Reticent and shallow for the style, though. Texture is aptly Medium-bodied, smooth, and wet, but it lacks the delicate fragile feel of the best expressions of the style.

Enjoyable albeit timid. Needs more depth of flavour, subtlety, and complexity.
