Copper brown with a luxurious tan foam dome on top that just does not give up and respectfully sticks around until the bitter end, providing a wonderfully soft start to the mouthfeel of this brew.
Bready banana notes with light yeast on the nose.
Flavor translates these aromas well, with some nutty notes included, and oddly a bit of raisin as well.
Along with the soft mouthfeel mentioned earlier, it's a little tangy at times, and a little boozy. The alcohol gets a little more vocal than I prefer at times.
R. Shea's take is not as subtle as Ayinger's Weizenbock (one of my favorite beers), and seems to stray a little from the template, but is very good nonetheless.
