Glossy black with a thick tan blanket settling to a thick persistent collar.
The nose features a therapeutically refreshing abundance of fresh, milky, creamy and almost herbal coconut, paired with some lactose and chocolate.
Chocolate and coconut work in tandem to create a full on Mounds bar vs. Samoa Girl Scout cookie-gasm in your mouth. Yet it's a lighter beer, gliding down easily and also bringing some notes of cola, roast and bitter cocoa.
I've had a couple of coconut stouts recently that were heavily sticky, thick, syrupy sweet and really over the top to the point they were difficult to drink even 8 ounces of (thanks Florida!). However, despite similar elements here, this beer is not heavy or sweet at all, with a light to medium body, light froth and semi-wet finish. It's quite drinkable and I could even see myself on a sunny beach downing it for refreshment. To the Crowler station!
