The weather is starting to cool. The leaves are just starting to turn. The evenings are getting brisk. It's time to take a cup of this hot chocolate with you as you gather around the fire.

16 FL. OZ. can
Served in a snifter

This beer pours black and is topped with an inch of tan head that leaves spotty lacing.

I get some chocolate and hints of coffee. The pepper really opens up as it warms.

Cocoa flavor. I get some dark chocolate. The pepper adds a tiny bit of heat. I was hoping for some marshmallow flavor. I guess you hope in one hand and shit in the other and see which fills of first. My bad.

Medium bodied with a slightly gritty mouthfeel

I would not have named this beer "Hot Chocolate with marshmallow." That name seems misleading to me. I got no marshmallow smell or flavor. Mom never put habaneros in my hot chocolate as a kid. It is good but misleading. I feel like a fool now.

I got a can of this beer off the single shelf from my local beer store just around the corner. It poured an opaque dark with off white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had sweet marshmallow notes with hints of cocoa. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with cocoa base with vanilla and marshmallow highlights....the finish was very spicy....thank you habanero pepper. The mouthfeel was fuller in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

Poured into one of my pint glasses, this beer pours a very dark brown color with a deep amber/ruby glow when held up to the light and a tan head that's 2/3 of an inch thick when first poured that settles to a nice big cluster swirl of a film layer of surface foam along with a pretty thick ring lining the inside of the glass and decent lacing. Aromas of roasted malts, with some chocolate, marshmallows, and lactose milk sugars. The flavor profile follows suit, with roasted malts and chocolate marshmallow. This gives way to the aforementioned lactose milk sugars and some nice habanero spice heat. Not really any discernible hop flavors here. The flavors are really compliment each other quite nicely indeed. Has a smooth, creamy, frothy medium to full bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Has a great aftertaste with all the aforementioned flavors lingering nicely. Quite an enjoyable beer all around.

16 ounce can, canned on 09/03/2020, big thanks to Brutaltruth for this brew! Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about a half inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. I like the aroma, the brew smells like milk chocolate, marshmallows, vanilla and some habanero/peppery spice. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some cinnamon, dark bread and roasted malt flavors. Habanero heat is noticeable but I wish it was kicked up a notch or 2. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's slick and a bit creamy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a good overall brew. Just enough heat to interest the spicy beer fans, but not enough to scare others away.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 9/3/2020. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky tan head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas and flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, marshmallow, cinnamon, habanero, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark bread/crusts; with lighter notes of vanilla, cream, smoke, char, wood, herbal, grass, peppercorn, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. A bit of dark fruity yeast in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Light-moderate herbal, woody, grassy, peppery, roast, charred bitterness; and light pepper spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, marshmallow, cinnamon, habanero, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, dark bread/crusts, smoke, char, wood, herbal, grass, peppercorn, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malts, lactose, marshmallow, cocoa nib, lactose, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet and spiciness balance; with no cloying/acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and fairly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Mild increasing warmth of 8%, and lingering pepper heat after the finish. Overall this is a delicious imperial milk stout. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malts, lactose, marshmallow, cocoa nib, lactose, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/spicy/drying finish, nicely soft/silky feel. Well balanced rich malts, lactose, and flavorings; with solid earthy hops. Light residual sweetness with lingering bitter/spicy dryness. Definitely a bit more for people who like peppers in their beers. It has a good bit of a spicy edge to it, but not overwhelming. Really well done style example! A very enjoyable offering.

I didn't read the label completely. If you don't, the "hot" will take you by surprise.

It pours black with a good, big bubble head that dies. The aroma is a sweet chocolatey smell. The taste is medium sweet, with bitters, and most importantly, hot habanero. It works nicely, with a good quality burn.

Recommended. It may be a bit overpriced.

From the tall boy can in a pint glass. This beefy brew pours a
dark obsidian with thin brown highlights, and thick head of tan foam
that subsides to a thick ring, thin layer, and sports some very nice lacing.
Nose of dark cocoa, faint cream, and subtle char. Flavors surpass the
nose with a balanced char and hot pepper note surrounded by
touches of dark cocoa, light cream (marshmallow), and deep roasted
malts. Nice mouth feel; medium full body verging on full, light
carbonation, rich, creamy, smooth, and finishing spicy on the
back with a pepper, definite marshmallow, and cocoa note.

Overall---hmmm....unique, interesting, and moderately
balanced for the hybrid style.

Cheers

This beer is brewed with habaneros. 16oz can poured into a tulip. Pours almost black; nice creamy khaki head that falls slowly leaving great thick retention and sticky lacing. The aromas are malt forward. Hints of cocoa, chocolate and marshmallows. The flavors basically follow the nose for the most part. Cocoa and vanilla comes through. There's some marshmallow flavors coming through in the finish. The habaneros are definitely there to give it a spicy kick. It's spicy, but it's not blazing hot or anything undrinkable. The heat lingers in a subtle way. It's also sweet which balances out the habaneros. Lactose is there. Strong malt backbone. Alcohol basically goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is nice. It's full-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's fluffy, creamy and smooth.

This is a pretty solid milk stout. Although the flavors can be a little bit one dimensional, it has everything that you'd expect from a milk stout brewed with cocoa nibs and habaneros. The heat isn't shy, but isn't overwhelming. Not bad at all.
