16 ounce can, canned on 04/07/21. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. I like the aroma, the brew smells like coffee, caramel, chocolate, nuts and roasted malt. I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also the addition of some vanilla and earthy flavors. Leans a little sweeter tasting to me but still has a good amount of coffee roastiness too. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's slick, a bit creamy and easy to drink with a moderate amount of carbonation. I think it's a good overall imperial stout. If you like R Shea's other Twitchy series brews then you'll probably like this one too!

Matte black with a puffy dark tan head that slowly settles to a thin ring.

The frothy medium body has a decent roasted malt combined with an assertively bitter bite of toasty bean, finishing semi-dry. But why do I taste mint? As it warms--which is rapidly here in the downtown location, where it's sweltering hot right now, indoors--a bit of peanut wafer develops. It also becomes a little roastier, and less minty.

But that mint is a huge detractor from what I thought was going to be a palate reliever after having been assaulted by SAC.

16 FL. OZ. can
Served in a snifter

This beer pours black and is topped with an inch of deep mocha head that leaves little lacing.

The smell is rich, dark coffee. I get some chocolate as well.

The taste is full of black coffee. It is a bit acrid, but I like it. I get some underlying chocolate.

Full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel

I really like this coffee stout. The coffee flavor is intense and slightly bitter which I like. I rarely drink coffee, but when I do it is black. This stout is not sickeningly sweet like all the pastry stouts. It is my second in the Twitchy series. I have enjoyed both a lot.

Canned on 4/14/21. 16oz can poured into a tulip. Pours almost black; nice khaki head that falls leaving decent retention and lacing. The aromas have some ground coffee beans along with some peanut shells. Malts are there. The flavors are bold. The coffee definitely shines. Nice coffee flavors. Some chocolate, especially in the finish. Subtle hints of vanilla in the mix. Solid bitterness. Low sweetness. Malts do their thing. Alcohol is well hidden. Mouthfeel is full-bodied with moderate to active carbonation. It's sharp, slick and smooth. This one is dangerously drinkable.

This is a really nice coffee stout. The coffee is the star. It's bold while ultimately remaining balanced. This brew fits perfectly in their "Twitchy" series. Well done. I really like it.
