22 OZ. bottle
Served in a snifter
This beer pours black and has a minimal, almost black head that leaves nary a trace.
I smelled chocolate and vanilla as soon as I pried off the cap. It smells rich. I also get caramel and oak.
Chocolate, vanilla, and caramel flavor with an underlying oaky presence.
Full bodied with a thick, smooth mouthfeel
I am glad I went to R. Shea before they closed. I purchased some fantastic barrel aged beer. Too bad it closed. I enjoyed a lot of the beer I had from them. The Merriman Valley location had cheap food as well. Sadly, only one bottle left.

Glossy black with a short but creamy khaki head that dies off fairly quickly.
All kinds of vanillin, caramel, mocha, raisin and waffle cone express right away, while also persisting well throughout the crackly carbonation of the medium body. The exhale is a little woody with a touch of cola after a bit of a tingling, numbing finish.
Well shit, what a delicious farewell to a local business, right in the heart of the original location.
