A gose inspired ale brewed with sea salt, blueberries, cinnamon sticks, and vanilla beans! Fermented with our house culture of Brettanomyces, Lactobacillus, and Pediococcus. This gose has a bright acidity followed by a blueberry pie flavor explosion!

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 8/2017. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy ruby red, light orange/pink/purple color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy light pink head with solid retention, that reduces to a minimal spotty lace cap that lingers. Minimal spotty lacing on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big sour/tart/tangy blueberries, fruit skin/seed, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, plum, pear, apricot, red/green apple, currant, red grape/wine, vanilla, cinnamon, sea salt, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, and white bread; with lighter notes of peppercorn, leathery/musty/lacto funk, red wine vinegar, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/acidic/light spicy yeast, blueberries, cinnamon, vanilla, sea salt, and moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big sour/tart/tangy blueberries, fruit skin/seed, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, plum, pear, apricot, red/green apple, currant, red grape/wine, vanilla, cinnamon, sea salt, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, and white bread; with lighter notes of peppercorn, leathery/musty/lacto funk, red wine vinegar, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness, fruit tang, and light spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of sour/tart/tangy blueberries, fruit skin/seed, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, plum, pear, apricot, red/green apple, currant, red grape/wine, vanilla, cinnamon, sea salt, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, peppercorn, leathery/musty/lacto funk, red wine vinegar, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic/light spicy yeast, blueberries, cinnamon, vanilla, sea salt, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with a great malt/tart/sourness and tangy fruit balance; with minimal puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering tart/sourness, tangy fruit, and carbonation. Medium-plus carbonation and medium body; with a smooth, moderately creamy/grainy/acidic/tangy/tannic, and lightly saline balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 6%. Overall this is an awesome fruited Gose. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic/light spicy yeast, blueberries, cinnamon, vanilla, sea salt, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth, easy, and fairly crisp to drink with the modestly acidic/tangy/tannic/drying finish; not overly lactic/salty. Awesome balance of juicy/jammy blueberries, Brett/Bacteria complexity, and cinnamon/vanilla flavors; with a nice pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp acidic dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and impressive style example; but more of a pure sour/wild ale with the Brett/Pediococcus addition.
