16oz can received from Beersnake in the barleywine/stout BIF #2; 1st beer from Winterlong (and first beer from the Yukon as well!)
Poured into an Imprint Belgian-style tulip
2024 release
Overall - a nice hoppy barleywine; found it similar to SN Bigfoot; thanks for sending it, 'Snake!

Winterlong Guilt Trip 2024 (American) Barleywine, 9% ABV. Pours deep copper, with a four-finger beige head that left great lacing. Aroma is fruity and hoppy, taste is toffee and fruit, moderately bitter, slightly sweet. Decent dry mouthfeel, overall excellent.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours an opaque orange with a reddish tint. The nose is straight up American barleywine. Hoppy (citrus and pine) coupled with a mild sweetness. Apple, caramel, bubble gum, and fruity candy.
The taste is freaking awesome. Reminds me a lot of Old Guardian, but with a bit more fruit. Bitterness is strong - mostly citrus peel. Caramel makes a statement as well. Pine needles, orange, strawberry candy, and a bitter leather note that comes through on the aftertaste. I'm really digging this beer.

2021 version.
Appearance - Pours a rusty red with three fingers of off-white head.
Smell - earthy, leafy, floral, weedy hops, caramel, toffee, dark fruits (plum ,raisin, fig), bready malts, and earthy yeast.
Taste - earthy, leafy, floral, and weedy hops upfront. The caramel, toffee, and dark fruits (plum, raisin, and fig) come through next. The bready malts and earthy yeast round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate to full carbonation. Finishes sticky and a slight alcohol warmth lingering.
Overall - A good representation of the American Barleywine style. This one is well-rounded and is a dangerous sipper considering the ABV is well hidden in this. Winterlong sure knows how to brew their bigger bold beers!
