Aged in bourbon barrels, this Belgian-style Tripel is a miraculously smooth, complex golden ale. The overall sweetness of this beer is complimented by prominent notes of oak and whiskey.

An oak-aged tripel aged in Basil Hayden bourbon barrels.
Appearance - Pours a honey gold with three fingers of bubbly white head.
Smell - bourbon barrel, earthy, leafy, and spicy hops, candied sugar, dark fruits (plum, raisin, and fig), caramel, and earthy belgian yeast.
Taste - the bourbon is most pronounced upfront followed quickly by the earthy, leafy, and spicy hops. The candied sugar, dark fruits (plum, raisin, and fig), and caramel come through next. The earthy belgian yeast rounds out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes sticky from the candied sugar alongside a nice warmth from the alcohol.
Overall - A very complex brew that utilizes the bourbon barrel very nicely. A lot of the traditional tripel elements are used as a pleasant base. This is definitely not for those that aren't up for trying something different along this style.
