2022 version of this brew.
Appearance - Pours a rusty red copper with two fingers of bubbly white head.
Smell - bourbon, oak, woody elements, earthy, leafy, and floral hops, dark fruits (raisin, plum, and fig), caramel, bready malts, and earthy yeast.
Taste - strong notes of bourbon, oak, and the woody elements followed quickly by the earthy, leafy, and floral hops. The dark fruits (raisin, plum, and fig), alongside the caramel follow suit. The bready malts and earthy yeast round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes smooth with the bourbon, oak, and dark fruits lingering.
Overall - Another pleasant offering from Winterlong. They continue their success from last years barrel aged brews that I sampled. Nice to see this stellar brew makes it way to Cowtown. Worth a try if you like your brews with a bourbon kick to it.
