Summer time is here and so is the Ice Cream Man, a kettle sour ale with aromas of orange and vanilla leading into a slightly sweet tartness that is balanced and refreshing.

Citrusy and sour. The vanilla creaminess I was expecting was pretty much void. Did have some mild hop bitterness but not much to speak of. Definitely sour but it lacks the defining character I was expecting from the package description.

Poured from 16 oz can into tulip glass. Looks burnt orange with a quick white head that falls to next to nothing. Aroma is orange, pear, a bit of wood. Taste is orange zest to start, a bit of Creamsicle in the middle and the sourness kicks in at the end. Feel is light and well carbonated. Its pretty lively on the tongue at first, but flattens out after a few seconds. Overall, it's OK. The flavor is muted a bit, but the sourness is there for sure. It's pretty refreshing given the relatively low ABV.

Low acidity for a sour but a bit heavy on vanilla in the aroma and taste up front. Easy drinking but you have to think vanilla belongs in beer.

This beer is very easy to drink. It has a slight sweet/orange taste which is a sweet treat. Easy to have more than one. Best beer ever!

Interesting sour. The addition of lactose tamps down the vinegary aspects of the this ale and brings a smoother feel. The orange has a slight tang but just misses the bitter bite of rind/pith. Decent enough.

Burnt reddish-copper and no head.
Smell is toasty and almost salty like a Gose with a stinging, tart red fruit accent.
Taste is wafer malt with lightly tart grape and cherry suckers via a frothy medium body and sticky dry finish.
