With a sweet touch to the front and tart apple to the back of the palate, this kettle sour ale is a pleasant reminiscence of the caramel apple.

Smell is straight up caramel apple. The smell is exactly what you expected when you bought this beer. The taste is almost there. Forefront is sweet, but not caramel flavor. More of a milk sugar type sweet but the toasty flavor of caramel is absent. The follow up is for sure green sour apple though. Mouth feel is medium, which matches the flavor and works well with everything. Pretty decent beer just not as caramel like as I was hoping.

Poured from can to pint glass. Aroma is heavy and immediate as it hits glass: caramel apple, as advertised. Yellow brown in color - amber/umber? - with a finger of eggshell foam that's here and gone. Sweet, sticky, and Fruity in aroma. Tart and kicky, with a chewy caramel sweetness this side of cloying.

Thank you superspak for this
16 oz can, dated 8/22/19, poured into a teku
A- A slightly hazy golden amber with a two finger white head.
S- Caramel and butterscotch, some tart apples.
T- Tart, Granny Smith apples, butterscotch, caramel, lacto, touch of wheat.
M- Smooth, crisp, light to medium body.
O- I was hoping for a little less caramel and a little more apple, but overall Roak did a great job with this beer.

Roak sour caramel apple watusi tap shaker pint at bagger Dave’s $6.75 20oz
A clean gold 1-finger off white awesome stick.

T big caramel up front sour flavors bring apple finish a little cinnamon.
M dry medium body short of puckering.
O sweet not bad a pint is enough. Goes with recent fall weather, if not a burger and fries.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 8/22/2019. Pours slightly hazy deep golden amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big sour/tart/tangy red/green apples, fruit peel, lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, melon, apricot, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, honey, caramel syrup, wheat, white bread dough, light butterscotch/peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of apples, fruity/acidic yeast, caramel flavoring, and pale/wheat malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big sour/tart/tangy red/green apples, fruit peel, lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, melon, apricot, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, honey, caramel syrup, wheat, white bread dough, light peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness, fruit tang, and light spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of sour/tart/tangy red/green apples, fruit peel, lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, melon, apricot, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, honey, caramel syrup, wheat, white bread dough, light butterscotch/peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of apples, fruity/acidic yeast, caramel flavoring, and pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tart/sourness and tangy fruit balance; with no puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering tart/sourness and tangy fruit. Medium-plus carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/grainy, and acidic/tangy/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is an awesome flavored/fruited kettle sour. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of apples, fruity/acidic yeast, caramel flavoring, and pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/refreshing to drink with the modestly acidic/tangy/tannic/drying finish; not overly lactic. Awesome balance of big juicy apples and lacto complexity; with great balanced caramel flavoring, and pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and outstanding experimental style example as expected. Tastes exactly like a caramel apple all the way through.
