Pours pure black from the tap. Small Mocha colored head that fades away rapidly. Nose is mostly cocoa and alcohol with some dark fruits shoving their way through. This seems to be on the opposite end of the spectrum from Old Rasputin, while OR is mostly a coffee bomb, this beer is far more on the chocolaty side, with just a hint of coffee. Just a hint of hops in the aftertaste. This is a rich, decadent beer with a full, creamy mouthfeel. The high ABV is disguised well, I could easily see being in a world of pain after two pints of this beer. I managed to snag a bottle, so I'll see how it fares after a couple of months.

Poured a jet black with a small head, good carbonation. Nose is big, alcohol, roasted malt, cocoa and perhaps coffee. Taste was big n the ABV and I was forwarned it was still very hot and needed time to mellow. Cocoa and roastiness was big with a slight funky sourness. Mouthfeel was big, hot and rather nice. Pretty balanced despite a big ABV.
