On tap at Central Coast Brewing in San Luis Obispo, CA.
Pours a clear crimson-brown with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, dark fruits, and some slight spice aromas. Taste is much the same with a mild spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is tasty but pretty strong. Also, I am not really getting any smokiness in the aromas or flavors.

On tap at the brewery
Appearance: Dark brown, a little lacing, and small head.
Smell: caramel and a faint hop.
Taste: rich smooth malts and a caramel base finish.
Mouthfeel: medium and smooth. This is a very nice brew. It's not overly complex, but it is very smooth and nice.
