up their with their nitro stout as my favorite beer i had from these guys. we were lucky enough to try most of their stuff between the la fortuna pub, who carries a lot of it on draft, and the brewery itself. this is a super low key blonde ale, light in color, malt flavor, and body, but with a subtle pineapple addition that makes it quite distinct, but not so much fruit as to make it sweet or diminish refreshment value, which considering the hot and humid costa rican climate, is pretty key in any beer. the pineapple flavor is pretty nature, a little syrupy and sort of concentrated in the nose, but more authentic and relaxed in the flavor, only a little sweet, juicy and ripe too, blended in perfectly to a very delicate base beer. this one had better carbonation to it than almost any other beer we had from them, they all seemed a little flat, but this one was super lively and bright, which i think brought out the pineapple flavor too. a really easy pint of beer to drink, very tropical feeling, uniquely costa rican i reckon, and one of our favorites these guys made. cool tap handle too with a pineapple on the top!
