750 no. Bottle
Opened and reviewed on: 4/20/21
A bright golden haze with a super fluffy, airy foam cap.
Nose has sweet tarts, boozy raspberry and metallica, sour yeast kick thing, banana and cloves, creamy mint leaves, seltzer water....Pretty intense.
A seriously medicinal, metallic and iso style taste that is just too much. This wild thing really opens up after a while.
Spritzy and bouncy mouthfeel, airy, effervescent and very dry.
Tangy, wild and sour fermented fruits rides on in the flavor, dramatic scenes in the forest. Bitter bite and weird medicinal taste is only a bit more mellow.

750 ml bottle dated 02/05/16. Picked up at a BevMo so it hasn’t been cellared, at least not properly. Pours slightly hazy gold with a huge white head that settles quickly. Aroma is funky brett, lemon, floral. Taste is brett, dry, tart, a little earthy with a bitter finish.

A: A massive amount of soft head on top of a grapefruit yellow colored beer.
S: Lemony with touches of sage a bit earthy and herbal with some funk in the finish.
T: Light tartness with earthy funk. Slightly herbal, slightly acidic, something in the finish I can't quite pinpoint.
M: Light in body, with plenty o' carbonation.
O: Overall interesting and tasty.

Poured from 750ml bottle into glass. Bottled on date is stamped on bottle as '02/09/16'.
Slightly cloudy, straw colored body. Very active white head upon each pour, settles to thin cap and scattered islands. Some lacing.
Aroma of non-sweet fruit and funk.
Taste is rubber tire and dry, fruity funk, some leather and grassy/barn yard. Not tart. Some spicy hops. Not much a change in taste profile through each sip.
Very lively carbonation, light mouth feel. Brings forth many belches.
Without much sweetness and tartness, this beer relies on dry funk and slight hops. Good for matching with food where the beer is not going to overwhelm the food taste. The beer is rather neutral but does have that predominant dry funk.
Each glass pour induces another frothy head, which quickly settles.

$ 13.77 Including tax/750 mL bottle ($ 0.542/oz) at Riverside Liquors, Grand Rapids, MI.
Bottled 02/04/16, stored on the shelf in the store and at 42 degrees in my reefer. Served at 42 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter.
Aroma – Initially a sweet fruity odor propelled by the hyper-carbonation. The sweetness quickly fades leaving the fruitiness.
Head – Initial pour yields a very large (9.5 cm) head of very low density white froth. This is fed by lively effervescence but quickly dies, allowing the head to rapidly retract, leaving a three mm ring of two to three mm bubbles and a thin partial layer. The second pour produces a smaller (6.5 cm) head with a denser consistency but is still riddled with rocks. It also rapidly recedes.
Lacing – None.
Body – Very light yellow, clear, effervescent.
Flavor – Basically follows the nose. It begins fruity and slightly sweet. The sensation of sweetness quickly fades leaving the fruitiness. It finishes dry. No alcohol, no malt, no diacetyl.
Palate – Light, watery, lively carbonation.
Impression: Very champagne-like in its appearance – don’t be surprised by the first pour! Very tasty.

This is an excellent effort with lots of complexity and funk in nose, flavor profile and finish. This has a lot going for it with layers of bitter, green, hop, bitter, celery, salty and ivy tones all that really come together nicely with an over riding funk that simply smells and tastes great. Long complex finish and a very good food beer with lots of different cuisines.
