Disclaimer: Tart of Darkness is one of my favorite beers of all time. So, a few possibilities here, I overrate out of biased love, or I underrate out of biased love for the OG TOD.
Pours the usual dark brown, crimson edge elements of black throughout kind of color and an ultra thin cherry cola head on top in the 1/5" range. Aroma is still tart of darkness, not getting much in the way of the currants, mint or lactose on this one.
Taste, whoa, now we're doing something weird. The mint and currant really stand out, and the lactose just doesn't pull enough weight to temper those weird bitterness and distracting aspects of the beer. I mean, the mint really doesn't work here. Worst variant ever says comic book guy. Hurry up with my Tart of Darkness/Chocolate Rain blend please.
