Our latest collaboration with our friends at Garage Project, Foreign Bodies uses yeast captured from their home country of New Zealand, as well as different strains from the Terreux cellar. A load of late-summer nectarines and loganberries add juicy sweetness to this complex sour.

Appearance: Slightly cloudy reddish straw-yellow color with a medium sized white head that subsided to a thin white cap.
Smell: Nectarines, cherries (could be loganberries but i never had one), mild barnyard funk and mild grassy hay notes. Interesting nose on this one.
Taste: Tart citrus notes, nectarine notes, and tart berry notes come through in the taste profile. The beer finishes fairly dry with fruit notes coming through on the tail end.
Mouth-feel: On the fuller side of light bodied with a modest level of carbonation. The mouthfeel is satisfying.
Overall: A tasty American Wild Ale. The added fruits complement each other well. All the elements work well to produce a tasty treat.

A: Poured into a Duvel tulip to a slightly cloudy pink to light red beer topped by a dense and rocky finger of pinkish off white head that fades quickly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing.
S: Smells of sourness off the bat with some nice nectarine notes along with a little ligonberry. Touch of oak as well.
T: Taste is nice nectarine and ligonberry notes with some nice sourness that isn't super aggressive. Hint of clean maltyness along with a little oak. On the swallow a lot more nectarine and ligonberry with some lingering sourness and a touch of vanilla like sweetness.
M: This beer is on the lighter side of medium which is nice. Carbonation is effervescent but it isn't quite prickly on the tongue. The acidity ensures that the beer has a drying finish which is quite nice.
O: Overall this is a really awesome fruited sour. It has some really nice complexity and is fairly easy to drink. The fruit balances the sourness well and the base beer provides some nice notes to really tie everything together. Definitely worth trying and I'd like to see this one come back.

Had on tap. Soft ruby clear body with pink highlighted ring of white foam. I have to start with a confession: I have never had, let alone heard of, loganberries before this beer. Reported to be a hybrid of blackberry and raspberry, I can confirm this is generally true in the smell, though a touch more bitter. Together with the peach it makes a tart, sweet and balanced fruit aroma with the unique yeast. The feel is refreshing but the body is more full than expected, making you stop to enjoy the fruits instead of cruising through, with a sneaky yeast texture creeping in by the finish. Speaking of, the taste is very fruity with the peach and loganberry, but has bright supporting lemon, cherry, and acidity.
