We decided to get down with this 'weird' shaped bottle, wondering if it was a wine/beer hybrid given the heavier tempering of glass to the bottom. Consumed April 2021.

Pours dark. Tulips in the pic show a black/dark brown beer with a light purple hue to it. 1/5" off white head. Interesting. Still not sure what we're getting into. Certainly has an abv that is wine like. Aroma, ok, this definitely has grapes in it. What kind, I don't know, but these are grapes I'm smelling alongside some sourness. More currant than lemon kind of sour. The color of the beer tells me red grapes. Pricey hard to find stuff, but iz good.

Taste, oh very nice, very evil, plenty of grape wine aspect to it, but an interesting sourness that is equal parts innoculated (sic) wild ale and an earthy leather flanders like presence to it. Hides the alcohol amazingly well. The body isn't heavy or sludgy, nor did they dump a bunch of imperial stout in this like a lot of barleywine and hybrid wild ale guys tend to do (although sometimes its awesome like Melange1).

A: Poured into a Duvel tulip to a deep burgundy topped by a dense and rocky finger and a half of pink colored head which fades slowly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing.
S: Smells of intense leather and herbs with a hint of the fruity notes from the grapes and the oak.
T: Taste is slightly jammy up front but full of leather and band aids quickly afterward. Building tartness and oak come in strong as well mid palate along with more bright fruity wine notes. On the swallow there's some tannins and bitterness along with another round of leather and herbs with some lingering oak.
M: This beer is on the lighter side of medium in body. Carbonation is effervescent and slightly prickly while the beer has a drying finish which is nice.
O: Overall this is an interesting one. I'm not sure what yeast and bacteria if any they pitched with this but some of these notes are more like an intensely funky brett beer. I personally don't think it's bad, but it isn't what I expected to find.
