Inspired by the salty dog cocktail, we loaded this beer with a boatload of honey. Rich with sweet notes of honey on the nose and a big sticky mouthfeel! Pop a bottle of Hunny Dog and treat your palate to its myriad notes including honey and grapefruit, with a slightly salty finish.

A: Poured into a tulip glass to a deep slightly hazed golden orange beer which is topped b a dense and slightly rocky finger and a half of off white head which fades quickly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing.
S: Smells of tons of honey on the nose with some light tartness in the back end
T: Taste is honey and grapefruit with some saltiness. nice base tartness throughout along with a touch of oak but the honey notes are really the star of the show. On the swallow there's even more honey, some more grapefruit, lingering salt, oak, and some nice tartness.
M: This beer has a body which is fairly viscous and slightly syrupy. Carbonation is slightly effervescent but borders on being too low while the acidity gives this one a slightly drying finish despite the large amounts of residual sugar in this one.
O: Overall this is a pretty nice beer though it is a little on the unbalanced side. Decent complexity and the flavors play fairly well together but it's just a little bit too sweet for my taste.

I'm not the biggest mead guy, so I knew this wouldn't be my favorite. This sucker was just as sweet as a mead, but the flavor was really nice. This would be a mead-lover's jam for sure.
