Pours that auburn amber color that is almost synonymous with rye. Doesn't hold much of a head, it looks beige but is like 1/12" at best.

Interesting aroma. Blueberry and lavender are certainly there. I wouldn't say the rye does anything for aroma. I was surprised that the lavender "worked" here. Not something I come across in beer much, its usually one of those ugh types who buy goods and services to compensate for their deficiencies.

The taste brings sourness to the forefront. The body seems hefty, due in part to the rye portion of the malt bill. Reminds me a bit of a mix between Cascade's Blueberry and Bruery's Sour in the Rye (w lavender). The amount the alcohol and acidity are cranked way up mouthfeel wise. I'm not really digging all these ultra sour ultra acidic ultra strong abv wild ales. Its not an arms race. I really got out of paying > $1oz for these kinds of beers. I could get down moreso if this was 5.5% let's say.

A: Poured into a tulip glass to a deep reddish brown which is topped by a dense and slightly rocky two fingers of off white head which fades slowly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing
S: Smells of some rye spice, oak, blueberries and lavender
T: Taste is tart blueberries and building sourness up front with some oak and rye spice along with some lavender. On the finish there's more sour blueberries, rye spice, a touch of funk, and more lavender.
M: This beer has a moderate amount of heft on the palate with a slightly syrupy feel on the palate. Carbonation is lightly effervescent and adequate for the style while the beer has a drying finish due to the acidity.
O: I wish I still had a bottle of the OG to do a side by side, but this is drinking in line with my tasting notes. Still well executed, still delicious, and still pretty well balanced. I'd like to see this make rotating appearances.
