A: Poured into a Bruery tulip to a black beer topped by a dense and rocky three finger tan head which fades quickly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing
S: Smells of chocolate and currants with some oak and sour undertones with just a touch of vanilla remaining
T: Taste is slightly tart up front but builds into sourness with notes of currants, chocolate, roasted malts, and vanilla with some hints of funk. More chocolate toward the back end. On the swallow a nice sourness comes in with more currants, chocolate and vanilla, with some lingering oak and chocolate.
M: This beer is on the lighter side of medium in body with a slightly slick feel on the palate. Carbonation is sort of low but still effervescent while the beer has a drying finish due to the acidity.
O: Overall this is a pretty nice beer. It has good flavors and a good amount of complexity with a well executed amount of sourness. I'm not sure if I'd want this one to come back or not but I'd probably buy it if it was released again.

375ml bottle poured into a tulip
A- pours black in color with a one-finger dark, almost purple head that reduces to leave nothing behind
S- mouthwatering sour berries up front with aromas of black currant, blackberries and blueberries. Undertones of milky chocolate, vanilla, ash, oak and a hint of bourbon
T- tart and sour notes of black cherries and currants up front are followed by notes of cocoa and vanilla bean. Mid-palate brings out an acidic vinegar note that gives more dark berries. The finish brings out just a hint of bourbon barrel with chocolate and tart currants on the linger
M- medium body with low carbonation leads to a slightly foamy mouthfeel that finishes a bit creamy
O- the currants really come through, it had a cherry vinegar tartness that reminded me of a Flanders
