A half-decade of brewing wildly unique farmhouse-style ales calls for a craftful crown on an anniversary celebration. Like all Annuel projects, this quinary ale’s inspiration comes from The Bruery’s Anniversary Old Ale and the Solera aging technique. A strong Anniversary Ale base induces an artful blend with our Sour Quad, Imperial Sour Blonde, and Solera Anniversary Ale, all aged in oak and bourbon barrels for an elated finish.

Copenhagen 10/6 2023. 75 cl waxed and capped bottle from Best of Beers web-shop. Black label with “”Annuel” dark blue.
Pours opaque, murky brown. Big off-white, yellowish head. Stable. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a sweet and fruity odor mingling with a sour scent. Earthy touch. Blackberry and brown sugar. Plums and alcohol. Sour gooseberries with a light touch of vinegar and sour cheese. A bit of leather and tobacco .
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly stronger tart sourness. Aftertaste is tart but with a warming, boozy sweet undertone. Lingering. Finish is rather dry.
Well balanced between sweet, fruity booziness and tart sourness.
