The waitress described this as something between an Oktberfest and a Bock. And true to description, it has a color remenscent of many US craft Oktoberfest offerings...brownish copper reddish mixed with a rich off white head. Huge amounts of lace support and a full nose of sweet but not sugary malt. Light hoppiness gives a sort of grainy mouth feel, which aided by the natural carbonation (no additional CO2) which Fischer serves their house beers, is phenomenial. Its silky smooth on the tongue, yet flavorful. Flavor is not overly complex, just a smooth light sweet maltiness backed by a grainy hopping.
