Its brewed with an English ale yeast and with Organic honey from the nearby Waldviertel. What comes out of this is surprisingly similar to Newcastle, but with an enhanced complexity and mellow sweetness.
Typical to Fischer, there's a massive gobby head...perfectly poured. Color is dark and comparable to Newcastle, but with a richer amber transparency and hue. Strong aromas of honey come through...no sourness in the nose or bitterness detectable...just a very mellow sweetness. Flavor follows and finishes more dry than one would expect. The sweetness brought on by the honey is not overbearing in the least. Its mellow and restrained.
