So I see other listings for a Rogue single malt barrel, but this one was advertised as Woodford Reserve. Pours an auburn like color with a thin off white head that is 1/5". The aroma is possibly the best aspect of the beer. A very nice smoky hint tags along with the whiskey note.
Malty beer but smooth lower carbonation. The taste continues to be enjoyable, gives a bock a little more complexity, haven't had too many barrel aged bocks but this one stands as a good base for a small but well used amount of barrel exposure. Hint of barrel vanilla too. Some caramel notes all smoothed out, a tad of bitterness. This one is good, but still wondering about their forthcoming club and barrel products. $15 a bottle, I dunno that makes you want 4/5 level beer at that price. This is good, pretty good even, but not 'great' if you know what I mean.
