Thanks to Jordan for bringing a 4 pack of these out during Summer 2022. Nice stuff, always down for a new Centennial hopped beer.
Pours golden. Nice clarity. 1/3" white head. Looks the part. The aroma is mostly Citra with the orange and tangerine, but Centennial brings the brisk grapefruit rind and pine approach. Conventional old and new together at last. The taste profile shines equally with one foot in the past and one in the present. Firm bitter mouth feel without being excessive, good west coast crispness and light malt body. Orange and pine. Grapefruit rounding out and keeping that bitterness in the 50ibu zone. Its nice that it has all the hallmarks of an ipa, but in a more session friendly pale ale packaging.
The carbonation was spot on, the can design leaves a little to be desired. A good summation of this beer is a west coast pale ale with old and new hops giving it a brisk citrus pine peak. Well done.
