Had this bottle for awhile, left over from the folks move, waited until Pops was around to drink it. Just added the beer to the database, and reviewing it. (tips fedora).
Pours golden color. Appearance of liquid is fine but the beer didn't hold a head. The aroma smelled of a nectarine and almost peach like combo. I guess white nectarines are sawfter. Said to be aged in wine barrels, would seem like a white wine barrel would be the obvious choice, but beyond some french oak like vibes, I didn't really get the potential grape influence.
Taste came across predictably, sourness in the average wheelhouse in terms of intensity, usual lemon sourness above nectarine acidity. White grape possibly pushing that forward as well. A little bit of sting, melded approach of alcohol, bitterness and acidity. Carbonation was better than the lack of head formation suggested.
Nectarines are really good stuff, so its no surprise this tasted good. There are some angles that could be improved though. Worth picking up at the 50% off rack at the gas station though.
