This American IPA starts with a big citrus and floral aroma. The malt build brings the generous portions of citra and centennial hops together to make a smooth and flavor filled ale. It finishes with fairly strong notes of grapefruit.

Well, they dared me to try it. I took the bait. Sadly, it didn't live up to expectations. Here goes:
A: Kind of interesting look for the style. The beer is a hazy orange-brown - too brown for the style, if you ask me. Carbonation and head are also lackluster. A little disappointed.
S: Lots of pine and caramel malt. Not feeling the Citra. Smells a little too sweet - almost a brown-sugary smell.
T: Not very good. I love Citra, but this tastes nothing like a Citra beer. Pine and grapefruit, but then gives way to an overly-malty backbone (too much caramel, brown sugar, etc.).
F: Just alright. Not enough carbonation.
O: Too sweet. Not what I was expecting.

A new arrival at my local store where the clerk said it was selling briskly. A four pack of 16 ounce cans for under ten bucks? Yes please, I'll try. No date on can or abv. on the label.
Look- A murky flat dark orange color with little foam or carbonation.
Smell- Some pine, orange zest, and caramel malt.
Taste- Some mild grapefruit and a hint of lime. There is a pronounced caramel malt flavor in the finish.
Feel- Very thin and flat with little carbonation.
Overall- Not a drain pour, but mediocre at best. I'm a novice home brewer and this tastes like one of my average brews. I expect more from a Citra IPA that as the label describes, dares me to find better. It's real easy to do that after drinking this beer.
