A bolder version of our original BBB. This huge Imperial Brown Ale, flavored with a huge compliment of heavily caramelized Belgian brown sugar.

A: Pours an extremely dark mahogany brown (approaching black) in color with light amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and moderate garnet red colored highlights. The beer has a half finger tall foamy tan head that reduces to a medium sized patch of very thin film covering a little more than 33% of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Light to moderate aromas of roasted + dark malts with moderate amounts of brown sugar + molasses sweetness with a hint of earthy hop aromas.
T: Upfront there is a moderate flavor of dark roasted + dark malts with a hint of charred malts and a just shy of moderate amounts of brown sugar + molasses sweetness. Hints of bittersweet chocolate and roasted coffee with a very light amount of earthy hops. Light to moderate amounts of roasty bitterness which lingers for a moderate amount of time.
M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth but slightly thin/watery.
O: Drinks fairly easily with well hidden alcohol. Enjoyable with the right profile of flavors for an English Brown Ale though I wish there was a little more to the aroma. Decently balanced.

From the can in a snifter via a friend from work----Thanks Justin!
This decent English style ale pours a deep muddy brownish black
with zero head. Nose of subtle hops, toffee, light coffee, light cocoa,
and deeply roasted malts. Flavors follow the nose with cocoa and coffee
mingling with light toffee and roasted nuts finishing with very light hops
and subtle char. Decent mouth feel, smooth and easy to drink, but a touch
on the watery side----very English to be truthful. Overall a nice little brew.
Cheers

Poured from a wide mouth can into a goblet a deep dark reddish brown with absolutely no head. Aromas of dark roasted barley malt and molasses. Very subtle notes of nut and bitter chocolate in the taste. Medium bodied with a dry finish. Overall, a decent brown ale.

Moderately carbonated, this pours a deep, dark brown with half a finger of tan foam that vanishes without a trace. Quite smooth, the aromas are heavily of roasted malts with brown sugar, vanilla, and egg nog in the background. I get a very slight, but detectable, presence of butyric acid on the nose, which is a bit worrisome; fortunately, this never manifests itself in the flavor profile once the beer hits the tongue. Quite nicely balanced, this is an easy drinker that disappeared far too quickly from my glass.
