The Salm Braeu Pils is brewed according the original recipe from Pilsen in the Czech Republic. Made from the finest original raw materials (malt from Stadlauer Maltfactory and hops from Saaz and Hallertau) and the superb water from the mountains near Vienna. An almost 8 hours process using the sophisticated double mash process is the basis. The hops are aromatic but not bitter like most of the north German Pilsner types, because the original Pilsner Urquell is not bitter, it just has more hop aroma. The full bodied taste together with the fine hoppy finish makes this beer very special. One week of primary fermentation and three more weeks of storage time are necessary.

Had on tap. Mostly clear yellow pour with a large white head. Crisp sunny malts are the backbone to the yeast and grassy hops. Taste has a sweetness to these malts, cracker, lemon zest, yeast, grassy and a hint of herbal notes to the hops. Feel is thinner and lighter but crisp and does not get fully to watery

I remember this being the best from the brewery. Some stuff i wrote down:
grainy feel, citrus (lime, oranges, slight grapefruit); green spicy hops in the finish; woody feel; autumn leaves also;
a very nice pilsener, crisp, refreshing and extremely drinkable

In many ways the flagship of the brewery, the Pils comes out a slightly hazy pale gold under a one finger white head that is fairly creamy and quite sticky, leaving some good lace while it lasts. The nose is lovely, full of sweet malt with definite spice (mint?) notes - very enticing. The mouth is very prickly and surprisingly heavy, with lots of body and a slightly syrupy texture. Classic Pilsner taste, with sweet malt up front and strong spicey hop background. Clean and crisp, the hops are floral rather than strictly bitter, leaving a very dry impression in the aftertaste. A very good example of the style and a great quaffer.
