500ml bottle - a Gluten Free 'session' IPA, even if the ABV is above the average threshold. I'm to take that Chmielakia translates to 'hop meadows' in Polish?

This beer pours a hazy, medium golden amber colour, with two fingers of puffy, rather loosely foamy, and mostly just bubbly dirty white head, which leaves some hanging bands of frilly lace around the glass as it evenly subsides.

It smells of grainy and doughy caramel malt, buttered white biscuits, generic warmed citrus notes, a bit of earthy yeastiness, and some faint leafy, weedy, and floral green hop bitters. The taste is bready and doughy caramel malt, more buttery and crackery essences, muted orange and red grapefruit citrus rind, subtle stone fruit esters, and more plain earthy, leafy, and somewhat grassy hoppiness.

The carbonation is quite low-key in its insouciant-seeming frothiness, the body a decent middleweight, and generally smooth, with perhaps only a bit of pithy tackiness from the buttery character taking the sheen off of things here. It finishes off-dry, the robust malt making a day of it.

Overall, this is certainly one of the fuller-feeling G-F offerings that I have yet come across, with little to none of that alternative grain weirdness so endemic to the brewing 'style'. What I do see, is that this is more of an American Blonde Ale, than anything IPA-like, the hops fairly restrained, and that buttered bread thing (diacetyl, maybe?) further points in that direction. Still, a good brew if you have to drink stuff like this.
