First off, Siem Reap Brewpub is a fantastic place. Please visit. All the beers were decent if not remarkable. But you have remember they are operating in a sea of Asian lagers so they can't go too overboard. A real bitter IPA would be a tough sell here for now. This Amber was originally their IPA, but it is more malty and less bitter than an American IPA. It is still a good beer and was great to find in Siem Reap.

This is also referred to, confusingly, as IPA: Indian Pale Ale. I'm going by the tap handle and menu, not poster/server. On tap at the brewpub.

Golden clear with thick head. Smells faintly cheesy and nearly aromatic. It tastes hoppy! hoppy, I tell you! Sweet and fruity and still with that damnably faint cheese flavor that reminds me cask ales. But still. A hoppy-sweet ale in dusty Siem Reap for $3 is a godsend. The aftertaste is even piney. Recommended.
